Happy Holiday Weekend

How's your Memorial Day? Mine's been pretty great!

Firefly and I are hanging out at my desk while Billy cuts our grass outside. I like watching him, and he does such a meticulous job.

And, we just got back from a birthday lunch with our friends. I felt lucky to be included, and lucky to laugh at funny stories, and lucky to be at the point in my life where I only have to share my time with truly good people.

Here are my favorite things today:

  • Salt lamps. I think they make a really good gift. They are pretty, soothing, inexpensive, and they make any room cozier. You can never have too many. My favorite salt lamps have all come from TJ Maxx or Marshall's.

  • I just started renting clothes from LeTote, and I can't stop talking about it. It's an online service that lets you choose and borrow unlimited outfits for a monthly subscription of $59.99. (You can get your first box for free if you use this link.) A friend told me that by the time you order, wear, and mail the clothes back, you can reasonably expect to use the service 3 times a month.

It turns out, I love renting clothes! My closet is full of outfits that I liked buying, but soon discovered were uncomfortable or annoying to wash or wear. For example, I have a bunch of blazers that I really like, but I hate dry cleaning them, so I never let myself wear them unless it's a really special occasion. LeTote does all the washing for you (and clothes arrive smelling fresh).

So basically, LeTote gives you all the fun of shopping, getting mail, and wearing something new, and none of the chores of washing, storing, or putting clothes away. And, you can wear 9 or more outfits a month for the price of 1 -- which is nice when you're trying to save money but still look nice.

Also, when I realized I couldn't part with one of the necklaces, I kept it -- for $22.

I like this service way better than Stitch Fix, which doesn't let your choose your clothes, costs way too much, and sent me clothes that didn't hold up in the wash.

I'm sorry this blog kind of turned into an ad, but I'm really excited about this!

OK, now I'm off to have a cookout with my mom and dad. I think I'm having one of those days when my heart just bursts with love an gratitude. It's a pretty good day.
